Malefor was the first purple dragon. He was born in Warfang and mastered every element, like Spyro did.

But he took a drastic turn and went to the dark side. He was exiled and made his home on a mountain, known as the Mountain of Malefor.

He died and his soul was trapped in Convextivity. He put his general ape, Gaul, in charge. Gaul took this chance to hypnotize Cynder into freeing Malefor's spirit. Cynder managed to do this, but Spyro freed her.

After being freed by Cynder, Malefor's soul traveled to the Well of Souls, where he would be revived to destroy the Realms. Gaul was defeated by Spyro, but Malefor got away as a new person of evil.

Three years later, Spyro, Cynder, and Sparx were sent to help Warfang fight off Malefor's forces. They accomplished this feat, but learned that Malefor had sent out a new creature, the Destroyer.

Spyro and the gang defeated this and soon went to destroy Malefor.

Malefor's plan of destruction became true during the middle of the battle against Spyro and Cynder. The Destroyer was revived and climbed into the center of the planet. Spyro defeated Malefor, but did one last thing to stop the destruction. He used his power of his kind to pull the pieces of the planet back together, stopping the destruction of the world.
